Mount Druitt Town Rangers

Our Pillars

Rangers, founded by two Scots of opposing faith & opposing clubs whose rivalries are among the fiercest in the World! They created a club adopting the Rangers name, Celtic colours, combining the wattle gold of their ‘new’ home. United as one in the Australia colours, they parked their differences for a new beginning.

A great & unique story that established the core DNA of our club, that runs true to this day more than 50 years on.

…it’s a grand ol’ team to play for…

Club History

Incorporated in 1970, Mount Druitt Town Rangers FC has serviced and been dedicated to Football in NSW ever since.  That is 50 years of developing, implementing and advancing football for all players in Western Sydney NSW Australia; Men, Women and Youth; and forging football pathways for our community.

Founded by  two Scots in the late 1960’s with a common passion and love of football.  One was a Glasgow Rangers fan and the other a Celtic fan – one of the fiercest of World football rivalries.  Adopting the name Rangers for one founder and the colour green was incorporated for the other.  The Gold of Australia reinforced their union and commitment to Australia, parking their differences, these values define how our club was forged and today we follow the same principle of co-operation and collaboration that helped create us.

Initially playing as Lethbridge Park Rangers SC, Rangers played in the Nepean Association and became a founding member of Blacktown Association (BDSFA) in 1980.  We are proud of our long history of offerng football to Grassroots and Elite players alike, regardless of their background.

Our home fields are located in Emerton on the outskirts of Mount Druitt.  We are the club of choice for many surrounding districts, while still supporting the local area which has provided football with many talented players.  All players, regardless, are given advanced Football opportunities.  We also work closely with the local indigenious, refugee and East African communities in providing pathways for promising boys and girls.
